I’m a better journal-keeper than writer
I don’t consider myself a very creative person, so that probably explains the above. It could also explain my success as a classical musician and grammar teacher but my less than satisfactory performance when attempting to improvise while playing jazz (however, I have to admit that I am able to come up with creative games and things like that for my classes).
I journal because life is interesting enough to warrant it. Life is full of up and downs and despite how much it sometimes makes people wonder exactly why certain things are happening to them, it’s still interesting. I prefer to observe and attempt to figure how life works rather than ignoring or escaping it all by fiction.
(Note: Perhaps I’m being overly pedantic (which is entirely possible), but this has been one of the most challenging post I’ve written verbiagewise to make it say exactly what I wanted it to say.)
